From the Organizers:
The evolution of civilization is under way. Canadians are opening to change. Most of us now know that the consequences of our lifestyles are accelerating. The time has come to take the dialogue about sustainability to the next level. We can do this in many ways, but it’s the small things that add up…small changes really can make a difference. The Conscious Food Festival will focus on everyday behaviour and habits with the unders…tanding that lifestyles must evolve. To this end, the Conscious Food Festival is about helping achieve truly sustainable communities by educating people in an area that everyone is involved in every single day… Food. The Conscious Food Festival is the first ever Canadian collaborative event to help promote the growing sustainable food movement while introducing thousands of people to food that is local, healthy, natural and delicious.
The Conscious Food Festival is being held at Fort York National Historic Site. This is an outdoor venue in the heart of downtown Toronto, located near Bathurst and Lakeshore. But once you are on site you will forget that a bustling city surrounds you. Although there will be plenty of sheltered tent space on site, please come prepared for the elements. The Festival will take place rain or shine!
The Conscious Food Festival brings city dwellers, rural neighbours and visitors to Fort York National Historic Site to experience a range of activities such as tastings, exhibits, seminars/debates and an urban farm, that will connect local restaurants, local farms and local food suppliers to your table.
The Conscious Food Festival appeals to nutritionists, environmentalists and food lovers alike. Come out and help us celebrate the sustainable food movement!

Although this is an all ages event, we will have two licensed areas onsite where our guests can enjoy organic, and/or local alcoholic refreshments from our conscious partners.
