About Me

On the eco-pulse of Toronto – I stay up to date on all eco-happenings – events, new businesses, services, etc. I’m always “out & about” meeting people and talking about ‘what’s going on’ and ‘who’s doing what’. On my site, you’ll see my work, the “things” that I believe in, that I’m a consumer of, and what I enjoy. One of my favourite “things” are events.
Environmental sustainability and food are my passions! A healthy environment and healthy people go hand-in-hand. There are simple choices people can make every day that would make them a little bit more healthy. For this reason, half of my presentations touch upon ‘toxic load’ and what we can do to reduce it. You can’t make a change unless you understand the issues and your options. I share the knowledge that empowers people with ideas for alternatives.
This website has many unique audiences. The EVENTS Page is for those who already have a passion for environmental matters or they want to become more knowledgeable. Events are a great way to combine socializing + learning. The PRESENTATIONS Page is focused on elementary & high school students (because I like to ‘get them while they’re young’), but I present similar topics to adults in the form of Lunch & Learn’s. [I'm planning a summer revamp of my website to have 2 portals: one for Adult Presentations and another for Student Presentations.]
You might be thinking, ‘Why is a focal point of this site about veg food”? It’s because what we eat has a greater impact on the environment than the car we drive. Here’s what David Suzuki has to say about the impact of what we eat: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/eat-for-a-healthy-planet/food-and-climate-change/
